Rainy Night by French Lobster

0

If you’re in the mood for a chill, effortless, piece of Lofi beauty with a sleepy, psychedelic edge, then look no further than French Lobster’s latest single, Rainy Night.

French Lobster is Gregory Dupont. This eccentric artist is a Brooklyn-based producer of Lofi hip-hop instrumentals whose goal, in his own words, is to blend a unique flavor of psychedelia into Lofi hip-hop. Producing what would pass equally well as a romantic rock anthem a-la Chris Isaac or as a beat to a fire rap song.

He achieves this smooth blend via a sleepy beat that’s a consistent and hypnotic presence throughout the track, coupled with several guitar lines that tread the lines between being on-time and off-time elegantly, lending the track almost all of its psychedelic feel. The guitar’s tones are washed out and drenched in tasteful reverb that’s as fitting as it is expansive, and not once do they come across as intrusive or excessive.

A simply enjoyable tune on its own, maybe missing a vocal melody to truly pop it to where It belongs. Nonetheless, solid effort from French Lobster.

I Don’t Know You Now by Tired Robot

0

Have you ever looked at someone and all you had in mind was, “I Don’t Know You Now”? Because the UK-based artist, Tired Robot, did. He characterized how this feels through a superb Synthwave sound in his latest single, “I Don’t Know You Now.”

The English musician, Rob Eisner, has been going by the manufacturer name Tired Robot since 2019, and he has started releasing his blended Alt Electro, Pop, and Rock sounds under that name since 2020.

Tired Robot’s eighth single, “I Don’t Know You Now,” is an absolute headbanger with its energetic electro stir and 80’s vibe. He’s a solo artist, but the solid production creates the atmosphere of a full band.

Lyrically, the single portrays the realization of not really knowing the person you’re dealing with and discovering that they’re not who they thought you were. As your partner puts you in the position of “Constantly questioning all I thought I knew.”

Giving the song’s subject, you can imagine a melancholy ambiance of solace, but Tired Robot had no room for bitty. He altered the dark feeling into a feel-good song by delivering it in a dynamic synth/retro wave. He has the capacity to make his vocals have both vitality and a hint of wistfulness. The instrumentation is built to make you engage, hype up and feel the message within in the most harmless way.

Tired Robot may have started recently, but Eisner himself has been making music since the age of eleven. This song has been recorded by him in his home studio (the garage), and it showcases how he’s a skilled musician with an outstanding voice and a lot to offer. “I Don’t Know You Now” is a totally recommended song that has such a vibe!

I Wrote This Here by Jodye Basco

1

The rising star, Jodye Basco, from London, UK, is dropping more hits to mark his signature in the Hip-Hop realm. On July 10th, he released his single, “I Wrote This Here,” demonstrating his dope songwriting and atmospheric production.

“I Wrote This Here” is a 2:20-minute song in which I felt throughout that I was sitting with a close friend, listening to his life ambitions, fears, and hopes, and his resolutions, such as “I need some growth this year.” And the beauty of this conversation is that it feels relevant as I’m listening to what I’d say. In addition to making the experience real with the organic music video that makes you, as a listener, feel as if you’re sitting on the opposite couch and listening to Jodye Basco narrating his life with his sincere, explicit lyricism that can be reflected on yours.

It’s a Yin-Yang song, as it conveys some dark and vulnerable emotions through its lyrical theme and Basco’s raspy vocals, yet the overall delivery is soothing because of the relaxing ambiance with the tranquil piano notes, snappy beat, and minimalist, polished production, with all the elements being well placed and playing their parts to flow and mash together, giving the desired natural vibe. It also shows both the ups and downs in one’s life; certainty and uncertainty; and the contraries that make us humans in a nutshell.

If you’re a Hip-Hop fan who’s searching for new music that is different from what you’re hearing, honest, and real, then Jodye Basco is your guy.

Words I Need to Say by The Baker’s Basement

The Indie Folk-hop duo “The Baker’s Basement” recently released their newest single “words I need to say”, from their upcoming record “Wild wild sheep”. Their single is basically what you would tell your loved one if you knew that their time is short, paired with a beautiful music video that was created by members Kate Dedinsky and Adam Grindler themselves.

Before even listening to the music, I fell in love with the music video, it was such a creative idea to use silhouettes, and the idea for the music video was super deep. After listening to the lyrics, it made me tear up, as someone who’s still grieving the death of a loved one, this is just an example of what I would’ve wanted to tell them. I also loved the mellow vibe to the song, paired with Dedinsky’s vocals which are both tender and raw. This is the type of song to be played in a coming of age movie where the main character is grieving.

All in all, I loved the music video, it brings the song together and makes this song even more emotional, and the idea behind this song is a unique one, as a lot of us have struggled with this issue. I am super excited about the release of their record this fall! If it’s as good as this single, this record will definitely put them on the map.

Joan of Arc by Mia Mormino

0

Mia Mormino blasts out with incredible power and whenever she releases a track it’s an instant hit, and after her latest release, “Alternate Reality,” comes a glowing new one, “Joan of Arc.”

“I was fighting, with a hand of thorns, Hear the violence, of my people roar”, Mia Mormino begins her path in an honest and shocking way that reveals how she faced a difficult life and from the heart of this she goes out to create an alternate reality for herself and creates a very engaging single with dynamic vocals that we can’t get rid of it easily.

I recommend that you listen to this track through a good pair of headphones because it will suddenly transport you to an epic movie scene that sees you moving before your eyes in slow motion, its a queen or singer depending on what you see fighting a lyrical battle with her soft strong voice through rising music and words that carry a lot of challenge and courage Rebellion, transformation, and a journey to regain strength.

Mia Mormino uses music as an outlet to evoke her inner thoughts and realize her feelings in something tangible and emotional, but also fundamentally and completely to create entirely alternate realities to escape to.

“I lost my crown, On the ends of the earth, But I’m rising now”

Here I can only pay tribute to the mentality and total self-awareness, we have nothing but positives to point out on this path, Mia really did deliver something special in an out-of-the-box look, but it has all the elements that make you want to come back for more.

Indie singer-songwriter Mia Mormino is more than just a pop star who definitely has the potential to stay fresh and attractive, struggling to stay true to herself in the music world.

The two singles are part of her 6 tracks upcoming EP “I’ve Got a Secret” which will be fully out in October 2022 and available for purchase through Bandcamp. “Til The Ocean Meets the Shore” was written during the pandemic’s lockdown and it is an uplifting message about how can we overcome anything that’s facing us and come out stronger than ever.

Starts with chilling arpeggios followed by Karen’s angelic vocals. It keeps on growing emotionally as it progresses with Karen Harding’s fluid beautiful vocal melody taking the lead and backed by a floating piano melody and bright guitar chords. Its calm mood is carried by a soothing stream of melodies and an expressive deep vocal melody with unmistakable easygoing songwriting.

“Til The Ocean Meets the Shore” is a sweet chilling tune with lots of true emotions and shows a lot of passion and will to make good music. Sangue Latino by La Palma

1

Do you remember being a child? Innocent times. Not a care in the world. Totally oblivious to what anything really means. Just a vessel for collecting memories for eventual nostalgia.

Chris Walker of La Palma does. La Palma is a DC-based duo, and this is their cover of the Latin classic ‘Sangue Latino’. Rather than forge an all-new path, La Palma chose to walk close to the original one, and add a few odds and ends here and there to make the ride a more fresh and modern one.

Chris’s mom is a Brazilian, and he used to listen to this song all the time growing up. His take is decidedly more otherworldly. The Far more chill vocals and the earthy chirps and effects add a considerable warmth, alongside a massive bass line that’s unchanged from the original, they all add up to create an experience that’s warmer, more grounded, and soothing.

Taking and redoing a piece of art that you have a soft spot for must always be exhilarating. Add to that an artistic vision that can actually add something and not just be a blind repetition, and you end up with a brilliant cover that’s respectful to the original’s charm while retaining its own unique color. Beautiful.

143 by Seiichi

0

In support of his first EP “Felix Culpa,” Seattle-based musician Seiichi has released the second single, “143.” According to the singer, the song tells the tale of a long-lost love that is rekindled and subsequently rediscovered, albeit under less-than-ideal circumstances. An authentic sense of appreciation for an experience that others might otherwise regret or feel shame for is revealed in the silent introspection during moments of sacrilege and longing.

Seiichi is a Seattle-based singer, songwriter, and producer who has made a name for himself in the music industry. A lot has been said about this multi-talented Japanese-American artist in the last year.

CLOUT, PopFad, and The Luna Collective all gave the EP’s debut single “Excuses” rave reviews when it was released. Robert Lang Studios in Seattle served as the recording location for the EP. KT Pipal (Blink 182, Of Monsters and Men, Gorillaz) mixed it, while Matthew Wolk (Masters of Reality) mastered it (Dempsey Hope, Sam Lachow, Sol). On the 23rd of July, Seiichi performed at the Capitol Hill Block Party, Seattle’s finest music festival. A release party is also planned for September at Seattle’s Royal Room to celebrate the release of his new EP.

A new and exciting sound is unveiled with the release of ‘143’. His versatility in utilising elements of conventional pop with bedroom-pop, shows that Seiichi has plenty of promise as a rising artist. This song’s inherent appeal is due to his insightful and emotive delivery. Seiichi’s voice is enhanced by a stripped down mellow guitar accompaniment, which sets the tone for the delicate vocals. Sincerity and simple production come together in Seiichi’s music to make an intimate atmosphere that is sure to move you.

3.15am by Nina Chiodin

Smooth and warm, quiet and also hypnotic even in its quickest moments, it’s “3.15 am” the sixth single by Berlin-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Nina Chiodin, which features an atmospheric neo soul/ hip hop collaboration with rapper M- Path.

“3.15 am” is dreamy and delicate and revolves around an invitation to love someone for one night in an undeniably evocative and emotional way, the writing continues to dive into a deeper level of the soul, and shows that physical closeness is a factor in dealing with loneliness, and that sex can be a tool A distraction from negative emotions.

Nina wrote this song on a cold wi night in her apartment in Berlin. After completing it, I contacted the rapper M-path.

Chiodin’s sexy, charismatic vocal performance is a standout feature of “3.15amnter”, and proves that although she is still a young artist, she has already instilled confidence, calmness, and sweetness in all of her songs.

The mix of hip-hop beats added an element of flavor to the song thanks to his distinct M-path sound and style, the music captures his sweet feel, and his vocal interplay with Nina shows just how emotional the state and experience are.

It seems that Nina Chiodin is looking forward to more in 2022. Because she has a wonderful and strong personality in composing her songs differently, it seems that she intends to wow her fans around the world, so wait for everything that is coming from this wonderful artist.
