Gold by Shanay Morant

0

Enter a hardcore heaven experience for 4 minutes with artist Shanay Morant’s new explosive song ‘ Gold’, which is highly addictive and sensual.  An unusual pop outtake that is laced with an infectious, unmistakable R&B soul into it, it’s released on the 1st of January from New York. Sexy voice snippets, interchange male and female voices that create a tense dialogue, this song is just another level of fine modern taste. She started 2 years ago in LA, with influences like Janet Jackson and Pharrell Williams. She also recently started producing which is a new venture that she’s excited to explore.

You can sense an early 2000’s female explosive sound of  Beyoncé, Shakira, and The Pussycat dolls with this song. It’s sexy, it’s melodic, it’s spicy and it’s everything you need to unleash your inner dancing beast on the dance floor. The overall sound of the song is very seductive and will give you a huge self-confidence boost. The musical arrangement is mind-blowing, there’s so much you will feel with every second of the beat. You’ve got a piano that moves a very melodic, medium-paced beat, jungle drums at the beginning, smooth and slick snippets of female voices, lots of hi-hats, and bass that’s aligned with the tone of the beat that is lowkey giving off lots of heat. This is a high-quality production and definitely a fresh voice for pop music. For some reason, Shanay reminds you of Chris brown style. We expect big things from Shanay in the music industry.

Separate Ways by Robert O’Connor

0

A dance-pop anthem that goes immediately from speaker to heart, like a hot knife in butter, from a talented songwriter whose sound will bring back memories from the early 00s, while somehow totally evading feeling old-fashioned or familiar.

Separate Ways, a single from Robert O’Connor’s critically acclaimed 2022 EP Severance, which received a shower of praise, is a synth-pop break-up anthem. The Dublin-based singer/songwriter seems to have found a sound he’s incredibly comfortable with, laying down the tune with as much heart and passion as humanly possible, which shows through his facial expressions that we can see in the live performance, Robert is not only comfortable with the sound of his music, he’s visibly having an absolute blast, making the performance invigorating to watch.

Separate Ways is simplistic, which is exactly the trick. The hypnotic synth riffs, driving, pounding beats, repetitive melodies, and lyrics, all serve to make Separate Ways the perfect tune for the dance floor. With pristine production by Gareth Shortland who has worked with Erasure and Will Young, and dedicated vocal production by Ritchie McCourt, Separate Ways has absolutely no issues on the fronts of quality, sounding neat, tight, and very professional.

A driving blast from a songwriter who is talented in crafting hypnotic dance anthems, with catchy hooks, and clean sounds, Separate Ways has a ton of replay value and is a song that will feel appropriate for far more moods and situations than what might appear at first.

Simple by Cielo Pordomingo –

Haunting and devastatingly gorgeous are two (ok three) words that came to mind with so much ease while listening to this single from Cielo Pordomingo.

A singer/songwriter from Santa Rosa, Argentina, Cielo Pordomingo’s Simple is the 6th of 9 singles that she released in support of her 4th studio album titled ‘BLINKERLAND’. Sung in gorgeous Spanish, Simple is an ethereal and hypnotic dream pop tune that will take you somewhere vast, and empty, with waves of light hitting your face, sounding mystical and scintillating. Simple is about the little things we do to save a relationship when it starts to feel like a repeating cycle, and for anybody who doesn’t know Spanish, the sounds are tantalizing and delicate.

The music is airy and is dominated by floating and bouncing synth notes, and delightful marimba hits. The melodies are ambiguous and melancholic but with a distinct bittersweet edge. The rhythm starts reserved to seemingly haphazard hits of sampled percussive hits, with a minimal percussive beat being introduced in the later half, further amplifying the floating and free-form feel of the piece. Cielo’s singing is sweet and her voice is strong and present while retaining a touching softness that’s in tune with the song’s topic.

Simple is quite simply wonderful. An immediate hit for lovers of dream pop and ambient music across their wide spectrums. Cielo Pordomingo is a talented songstress whose touch and feel are immaculate and give this single, among all her other singles, a clear, distinctive uniqueness. Smitten by the sound and vibe of this piece of art, Cielo Pordomingo has totally received a new fan.

ROCKSTAR by Rella

0

Hip hop artist Rella based in Wellington, New Zealand released a very beautiful and vulnerable song called ‘ Rockstar’, which will surprise you with the meaning and lyrics on the 19th of January. The song is produced by prolific producer Boyfifty who worked with great artists like Tory Lanez and Polo G. We’re always fishing for emotional hip-hop music that isn’t just about money, power, and sex, which Rella does a great job of giving us this opportunity. He has an emphasis on modern rap and bedroom pop vocals which really shows as he is devoid of hardcore beats and harsh melodies, so it’s always exciting to see his unique mix of hip hop and mellow/ sad undertones in his version of the genre. He has almost 6.5 million streams on Spotify.

Touching and reaching to grab the neck of your heart, the song is really all about expressing the hardest of emotions. It speaks of a fake love that is dependent on exploiting money and power. Here, we’re talking about the love that is tainted with agenda. Rella really goes all out with his sorrow over the sad truth of his latest partner, who loves his things more. We can all relate to somebody who made us believe that they love us for who we are but this isn’t true. The overall sound of the song is passionate and painful. The mood is rainy and weepy. The soundscape is more of a soft emo rap that isn’t really rap kind of sound. The musical arrangement is rich and dynamic, with a loop of beautiful acoustic guitar, and a mellow and soft vibe. There is a saxophone playing, and drums that are very light. The song is slow-paced and highly melodic. It’s tasteful and sad at the same time. Rella, please make more music that reaches the pits of our existence.

Ella se pone (radio edit) by Gabdez

Prolific DJ and producer Gabdez goes hard in his new single ‘ Ella se pone’, an infectious Latin pop dance track that is going to give you the best clubbing experience, on the 30th of December. The release was in a sweet spot in time because the track is super hot and it’s getting really cold out there in the world as we reach the new year. Gabdez is based in Milan after moving from Sicily to pursue collaborations in the big city. He played in cities like Oslo, Shanghai, and Tokyo, making big achievements by opening and closing for international bombs like David Guetta and Claptone.

The track is going to flare you up with heat and good vibes, while also giving you a sexy boost of confidence. It’s playful, moving and hardcore. The overall sound of the song is like moving into a blazing sun. The Latin voice snippets in the song really spice up the track as it starts muffled and rises from low to high. The song is medium-paced, making you enjoy good energy while also feeling everything slowly. The musical arrangement is rich, with a very deep sound and a sexy undertone with an amazing drop every time that makes you go crazy. There is a soundscape that is subtle that keeps building up at the back of the track that introduces an ethereal vibe and a magical aspect with the hardcore hi-hats and very prominent cymbal effect. Gabdez is always producing high-quality music there is just absolutely nothing more to say. We’re always waiting eagerly for his stuff!

Volition by LazerBeam The Legendary Cold Survivor

0

Floating around the world with the idea of having many choices and experiences, and the power to go through whatever life throws at you, it’s important to believe that utmostly you must think for yourself, the new song ‘ Volition’, will tap into this notion with a long story of one conversation with a rapper LazerBeam the legendary cold survivor. The song dropped on the 20th of December, from Tacoma, US. Using an iPhone 8’s and recording in his one-bedroom apartment, you could really feel the passion and effort Maurice Berry is doing to express his true emotions and become a full-time solo artist. He has done everything from A-Z on his own to make this track become real.

With raw feelings and good intentions, Maurice really puts his heart and soul into his bars on this song. He aims to make everyone feel that they’re not going through life alone with all its hardships and endless possibilities. The soundscape is a slow hip-hop beat, with a clear focus on storytelling and serious rhymes. The overall sound of the song is smooth and simple, with not much moodiness, and a lot of textured vocals that give the song a special taste. There is a subtle bass and a light synthy sound effect that is on a loop. In the song, there’s a casual introduction of what seems to be violin sound effects that give off a daunting vibe. The raps Maurice are clear, and strong and show a lot of concern about the world we live in. This is a great outtake from LazerBeam on the human experience and we’re excited to see more.

EP: Emerging by Adub Nati

0

With faith and struggle on the forefront, rapper Adub Nati released hip hop album “Emerging”

Cincinnati- based rapper Adub Nati dropped his second album titled “Emerging” with old-school vibes.

After listening to “Emerging” for the first time, I went on the balcony to smoke a cigarette and think about what just happened and really appreciate the lyrical and melodic force that came out of Adub Nati’s artistic struggle.

Adub Nati’s lyricism and the way he describes things is great. I can feel his spirituality and his connection to god through the music. His voice is similar to Freddie Gibbs which sounds familiar in a great way.

“Emerging” is an experience of Adub Nati’s growth as an artist and as a person, his storytelling throughout the album and the theme of hope and spiritual connection to god add a constant feeling of nostalgia, blending emotions of hope, with doubt and darkness that hits home.

It’s a strong mix of emotions that keeps you engaged while listening to explore and know more about Adub, a great upcoming artist with strong lyrics and great storytelling.

The production is on point with the topics, and the piano and keys playing throughout the album are really a good mix with the rest of the elements

Battling Time

It’s a great start to the album. The guitar line throughout the whole song really goes well with the subject he’s rapping about. It gives me the feeling of cautious mystery, with his voice and the beat punching through the track, talking about the wickedness and immorality of the world. His faith in god and spirituality show a lot, which makes me feel hope that carries on with the rest of the album

Get Me

The keys played in the chorus and the violin pads in the background are great. The rising piano notes with dark -yet uplifting- emotions perfectly fit the struggle he’s talking about, his growth as an artist.

Happenings Here

Right off the bat, the keys give this eerie feeling in a track that speaks about his spirituality and connection with god more, and heaven and hell, speak about his journey of connection.

Waiting on a Word

From the eeriness from the last track, Adub Nati switches to hope and how he’s waiting on the word of god, the keys are in contrast with the topic. This song is like an interlude into the next two songs

Black Flower Sun Star

Adub’s storytelling hits hard with the 808 slides, with the NY drill beat with female vocals in the background driving forward motion. The bridge when the keys come in is like a break from an action-packed film, and I went on the balcony to smoke a cigarette and think about what just happened and appreciate the artistic lyrical and melodic force that came out of the struggle.

The track gets creative with the 808 slides in a way that mixes very well with the rest of the melodic elements, and they sound full.

The guitar gives me this funky vibe, that bodes very well with the vocal sample, also the airy vocals give me a nostalgic feeling that feels like I’m watching the night sky in a dark place with a meteor moving through the sky, in a way that gives me a lot of mixed emotions that keep going on and building up as the track moves along

Don’t Be Scared

The female vocal with the ad-libs in between felt like Adub is actually speaking to me. They felt personal. The piano chords give this old-school vibe like a get-up, motivational boom-bap song, but new, modernized, and well put together. The whole song feels hopeful. His faith in god and the way the song is put together made me feel very hopeful.

Balloon by 5ON5

0

Our favorite inventive and quirky, oddball Berliners are back with a single that’s business as usual, peppy, fascinating, and weird, but this time matched with an interesting AI-generated video, and considerably peppier-than-usual songwriting and production

Embracing the ongoing increase of AI influence on music, 5ON5’s latest song, titled Balloon, is released accompanied by a stark, AI-generated video that’s as colorful, sweet, and creative, as it is unsettling at times, with cartoon versions of themselves whose facial expressions continually twist and contort in a hard to follow way. With the fantastical backgrounds that seemingly blend the real and the surreal in playful and colorful ways, this video is positively trippy. It helps that the song is blindingly gorgeous. With a simple, repetitive rhythm, prominent and sweet melodies, and a generally hypnotic feel, Balloon’s trippiness is effortlessly carried over from video to sound.

5ON5 continues to be inventive and creative, managing to keep us pleasantly surprised with each subsequent release, and Balloon is no exception. With a delightful video and audio presentation that saw a notable ramping up in production quality, I’m really glad to see them again, and I’ll continue to be on the lookout for their releases.

EP: Past The Ladder Of Horizon by Adam Schmieder

0

In a genre defined by ethereal atmospheres, silken soundscapes, and heavenly, soaring electronics, it is rare to encounter ambient music that boasts of its motion and direction as much as Adam Schmieder’s cinematic debut offering.

Announced as a debut EP, this piece of work from the Torrance-based composer, producer, and minimalist clocks in at a whopping 50 minutes of length, through its five grand and sprawling pieces of driving ambiance. With an astonishing standard of production quality that can be easily attributed to Schmieder’s experience as a composer of award-winning film and video game scores, listening to ‘Past the Ladder’ feels like a haunting, immersive experience that gracefully heaves and flows between its gently differing soundscapes. From the glitchy, elegant starter ‘To The Light’, passing by the soaring and supersonic strings of ‘Mythis Avanae’, ending with the alarming warmth of the gargantuan closer ‘Catharsis’, it’s a pleasure to witness Schmieder’s effortless ability to weave seemingly minimal compositions that possess an endlessly busy and buzzing core.

Gradually increasing in length, the pieces, built around a steady, time-related rise in the scale, also feature a gradual increase of scope and grandeur, with the first piece being a 5-minute-long swarming piece of glitching clicks and electronically sampled, seemingly haphazard percussive elements, composed what sounds like metal pipes clanging, water droplets, wind noises, and an all-out war between plastic elements, among a million other samples. It’s a challenging piece of avant-garde music that showcases Schmieder’s ability to achieve total control over what comes out of the speakers. Intersecting Point, my personal favorite, starts with an organic ascent of a picturesque synth that reaches an early, sustained climax of scenic, cinematic grandeur. A stunning piece of minimal, provocative, rhythmic ambiance. The enigmatically titled ‘Mythis Avanae’ follows a similar route that reaches its climax through intricate sound design that ramps up in complexity while remaining haunting, spectral, and sonically intriguing throughout. The penultimate ‘Glory: The Abrasion of Fear’ is the most musically nuanced piece on the EP, with prominent melody lines interweaving throughout the composition, while the swirling, swarming, synths and pads aptly permeate the empty spaces.

Past the Ladder of Horizon is an inspiring piece of musical art, with its inaccessibility wonderfully balanced by the inviting atmospheres, the complex and rich sound design, and the beautiful, haunting, minimal compositions. Adam Schmieder is a consummate professional, in full control of his craft, and the resulting product is of stunning beauty, and scope, and is of the highest quality.

Sacred Sinner by Umberto Bravo

0

The fresh release “Sacred Sinner” is the Italian independent singer, songwriter, and composer Umberto Bravo’s second single. It’s a bold take where he presents the feeling of a groaning heart, the sound of nostalgia and modernity, and the vocals of a sentimental, skilled performer.

Umberto Bravo has been around the music industry for a while, presenting covers and being the leader of a band called “The Prog-Ram Band.” However, he started his official solo career when he released his first single, “Real,” in 2021, and now he’s back with his flamboyant sophomore release, “Sacred Sinner.”

“Sacred Sinner” is a pop song that has an 80s vibe and a gospel hint, giving it a timeless ambiance. All the song’s elements serve to offer the same sentiments, which are longing, agony, and heartbreak. The lyrical content depicts a topic that not many discuss, which is being used as a sexual object while there’s an actual partner that takes all the affection and you’re just there for selfish pleasure, which is not what you desire.

The musical composition, the vocals, the lyrics, the production, and the music video all have the atmospheric flair of pain, guilt, being unfaithful, and being desperate for more. Umberto Bravo’s soulful vocals convey the ache of a burning heart and a yarning soul that aspires to be both an emotional and physical partner, but all it gets is the label “Sacred Sinner.” He delivers vulnerability and suffering in an intense manner.

The layered texture with the subtle guitar, bright synths, and melodic strings, along with the harmonic background vocals, give the ideal balance between both retro and futuristic flairs. The mellow yet edgy pace suits the theme’s mood and goes well with the singing timbre. The entire production creates the desired sultry mood.

The music video features yellow and red imagery, starring the multi-talented artist himself, and much aesthetic, including ravishing sites. Visualizing the hopeless craving of a “Sacred Sinner.”

What’s coming next is the six-track EP, “Melting Pop,” so keep an eye on Umberto Bravo’s social accounts to enjoy his characteristic sound.
