The Fall by Jon McNulty

0

The Chicago-based singer/songwriter Jon McNulty decided to unleash his musical skills and dropped his debut single “The Fall” on the 30th of September 2022. With some amazing arrangements and solid sound, “The Fall” is an emotional journey about McNulty’s vision of love, or as he described it

“I wrote this based on this cinematic perspective I have on love. And, how the moment can feel exciting, overwhelming, or apprehensive all at the same time.”

So let’s see how it goes,

Jon McNulty’s sharp acoustic sound and the way he designed those soundscapes are the most interesting things about his debut single “The Fall”. “The Fall” screams of McNulty’s beautiful sense of melody, musicianship, and songwriting skills as he uses each and every element right at the perfect spot creating a fluid stream of melodies from acoustic guitars to keys, percussions, and atmospheric sounds, all in a cinematic build-up that keeps on progressing with every added line towards a bigger and brighter sound.

I loved the bitter-sweet feelings I received from Jon McNulty’s “The Fall”, he clearly has a solid vision of his sound and what he exactly wants to produce with perfect execution, and man, he’s got the skills for it. “The Fall” is one hell of a debut single that’ll get you hooked and for me, I’m definitely going to keep an eye on Jon McNulty for future releases, keep on rocking Jon, cheers!

Dreams by Joe Sneva

0

Since he fell in love with Dylan’s music from an early age, Seattle-based singer/songwriter Joe Sneva has been rocking his acoustic guitar with a folky sound and modern soul. Sneva’s 3rd record was out in 2014 and has been releasing singles non-stop since then, and today, we’re gonna dig into his cover of The Cranberries“Dreams” on his latest single.

Joe Sneva’s folky take on The Cranberries“Dreams” is pretty amazing! He managed to keep the dreamy soothing feeling of the original song while playing it with a way different sound and pace. Sneva’s sharp tight acoustic sound mixed with his smooth warm vocals and subtle groovy bass carried the fluid melody gently in a way that made it hit right in the heart, just like the original one with the angelic Dolores O’Riordan may she R.I.P. The way the keys were introduced while playing Dolores’ vocal melody was pretty cool and built up for a dynamic upgrade in the song’s structure, followed by the clean electric guitars joining in with some cool licks, all in perfect harmony with a mellow flow and entertaining chill mood.

Covering “Dreams” was a bold move by Joe Sneva and shows his faith in his sound and character, he was able to take the biggest part of The Cranberries’ character which is Dolores O’Riordan’s vocal melodies, and turns it into something his very own using pure musicianship and talent while keeping his identity loud and clear. I’m totally putting this on my favorite covers playlist, looking forward to more from Joe Sneva, cheers!

Far by Rob Eberle

A huge slice of the world has memories of the “Super Mario” video game, and nearly the same percentage has painful memories of figures that no longer exist in their lives. What is the link between these two things? Well, in a normal world, there’s no connection but the nostalgic feel, but in Rob Eberle’s “Far” realm, there’s a magical harmony between them.

Rob Eberle is a seventeen-year-old young talent that has the artistic quality to be a shining star soon enough. The Long Island-based singer/songwriter and producer has artistic skills that don’t give away his young age.

“Far” sets a remarkable example of what Rob Eberle has up his sleeves. Besides his multi-talents, he surely wears his heart on his sleeve, offering a vulnerable, intense, and authentic track. It’s structured with a sound that offers a melancholic, soothing, and upbeat feeling at the same time.

As Super Mario’s main goal is to save the princes, the bleak, poetic lyricism is all about missing the lost love of a faraway princess. On some levels, you can hear the game’s theme song in the rhythms and feel as if the poignant vocal performance is jumping along with the beat, battling with feisty emotions to reach the far star.

Maturity isn’t tied to a certain age; its growth depends on experience. Rob Eberle’s “Far” proves that he’s emotionally and musically mature. How he depicts the heartbreak through each component shows how sincere he is. How he compels the piano notes, synth grooves, and swift drumming to back up his soulful, saccharine voice in conveying the fragile sensations demonstrates where he stands as a profound musician. The blue bassline solo was kind of a surprise, a pleasant one indeed. It added more warmth and romance to the narrative.

For a sensational journey filled with sonic treats, hypnotic vocals, and dreamy storytelling, listen to “Far” below and just chill, letting it take you far away.

burden to bear by sam marke

There are several forms of communication that aid in understanding, barrier-breaking, and interpersonal development. But what if a person is unable to employ any of these methods? One of the reasons why it’s difficult for people with autism to connect with others is that they frequently feel misunderstood and unheard. sam marke carries a sublime message about that matter, which is delivered through his heartfelt single, “burden to bear.”

sam marke is a sensational musician from Long Beach. His debut single, “burden to bear,” showcases his aesthetic abilities as a singer and songwriter and teases what’s to come.

“burden to bear” is a stripped-down ethereal piece of art that portrays the conflicts of thoughts and emotions autistics have when it comes to communicating with others. What makes this single greatly touching is that sam marke is an autistic person and this is his personal experience.

The single demonstrates how autistics have sparkly talents in general and, in particular, how sam is a remarkable musician who, with a simple melody and astonishing vocals, made this musical marvel. The soothing instrumentation gives space to the significant message and offers it in a serene, sophisticated manner.

The lyrics are written from the depth of the heart to reach the depth of the heart, and they play a key role in delivering the message. But in my opinion, what stands out in the song is sam’s wide vocal range. I mean, wow!! A voice like that will compel you to be moved, whatever the lyrical content is. The intense, layered part near the end is beautifully overwhelming.

Through the harmonic pop/rock hybrid sound, the stirring lyrics, and the velvet voice with its melancholic tone, sam succeeds in making all the autistics out there feel heard and understood, and makes the rest learn their lesson and know that nobody should feel like a burden! It’s always the better option to be kind, patient, and understanding.

Sexual by Shab

Even if the weather is getting colder, the bright pop star Shab is bringing the summer heat to us through her latest hit, “Sexual.”

Shab is a prolific pop artist that has gone through many stations in her life journey till she reached the chapter where she’s mesmerizing us with her airy, energizing music. I got to know the Iranian-born, Dallas-based, mother of two, and pure musical talent when I listened to her single, which was released in July, “Serenity,” and wrote about it a month ago. Now, here I’m again, enjoying once more her latest creation, “Sexual.”

“Sexual,” with its pulsing rhythms and sultry, alluring vocal line, will perfectly fit into your dancing playlist. Right from the bouncy intro and the (Li Da Di) singing, you’ll be set in the steamy dance floor mood. Each component is mashed seamlessly with the other to offer the desired energy and get you hyped up.

The vibrant set depicts female sexual tension, desire, and passion for someone. Shab’s dulcet vocal performance conveys bold lyricism with a sensual, hypnotic timbre to adjust your atmosphere to the blazing hot feel.

Shab has once more worked with Grammy-winning producer Damon Sharpe to enhance and inject fresh sense into her work. Thanks to the superb production, each ingredient can naturally flow and play a part in enticing the listener’s body and heart.

It goes without saying that Shab is an intelligent musician with a mushy upbeat sonic artistry and soulful vocals that, when combined, result in an addictive piece like “Sexual” below.

I Know by William Moore

0

Staplehurst, UK-based artist William Moore released a new commercial pop song called “I know, on the 17th of October. Moore has been playing music ever since the age of 4 and started writing songs at the age of 9. He’s now a multi-instrumentalist, who can play the flutes, saxophone, clarinet, and guitar. Moore has always had a passion for storytelling and has had the desire to weave stories through music. He believes it’s the most concise way of telling stories, and that’s totally true! His new song was inspired by wanting to write a song that celebrates the love between couples.

I know is all about love and happy moments in the drug of love. This one is for all the lovebirds out there who can’t get enough of each other. When we think of love, we instantly think of laughs, sunsets, and feeling free and high above the ground, and that’s what Moore does to you in his new song.

You just feel like you wanna fly away from how happy you are. The lyrics are a collection of happy memories recalled by Moore with his partner. The words are so picturesque you can easily imagine yourself in the situations he’s singing about like being on the beach kissing your loved one. The overall sound of the musical piece is chirpy and happy. The tone is cheerful and exciting, just like your heart when it’s thumping so fast in love, which the rhythm precisely mimics.

The rhythm starts really slow at first with simple piano notes and then continues through the whole song in an extremely fast beat. The musical arrangement of the song is simple yet very catchy, with a lot of movement in between transitions of the sounds. The music is composed mainly with some cheerful piano and intense drums mimicking the pace of an exciting heart. The vocals of Moore are high pitched with many parts of the song sung with absolute no breathing which is really hard and amazing! Take a boat to the island of love far away, and paint your day with colors of pink and red with memories of your love with this song.

Don’t speak by go4broke

0

“go4broke” is the stage name of a solo young musician named “Parker Keskinen.” Coming from Philadelphia, he makes catchy pop music that can easily go viral on social media. Parker created a considerable buzz around the release of his new track, “Don’t Speak,” which attracted a lot of interest from listeners who were anxiously awaiting its arrival.

The song has a unique atmosphere that makes you want to dance; as the music starts, its energetic pace puts you exactly in the mood for a party. While the music is melodious and popped, the lyrics are about being alone, and where the artist is nicknaming it his “social anxiety anthem,” which is the lead for his next EP this winter.

Its music is ideal for battling the winter blues and enjoying a mini party with your friends underneath the blue and red lights on joyful cold days. This song will serve as my anthem during this winter’s late-night trips.

Go4broke has performed in Philadelphia in small and mid-sized venues like World Café Live playing his songs and getting a lot of hyped fans over his music. A video will be out soon for “Don’t Speak,” I bet it’ll be all over the reels on TikTok and Instagram in the next few weeks.

In my garden by BSP

0

Artist BSP from London, UK released a stunning album called ‘ In my garden’’, on the 19th of October. It’s a dream pop sensation made up of 9 songs, with a lot to take in from her debut album’s music and lyrics. The producer she worked with is Lee Oakley, who was able to understand her bucolic and nordic 80’s vibe and eclectic nature with the sound of the present, making a great balance with what’s old and new.

BSP love to intertwine art and music by making live sessions that include connecting a sound to an empty canvas and working her way through with paint, while also singing, giving the audience a rich visual and auditory experience.

The concept of the album is all about the pieces of different phases, as you go through the beautiful garden of life because it is a mesmerizing journey no matter what happens. The idea is discovering the roots of having no self-acceptance and how hard it is to achieve it. BSP uses imagery and infectious metaphors that truly paint the picture of each emotional situation she’s going through starting with insecurity in the album, moving through broken promises, and then finally reaching a self-reflection moment.

The overall sound of the album is a very unique blend of melancholic music, in a very serene, picturesque way. There is something almost majestic in the music. The rhythms and beat are kind of slow and soft, with notable distant sounds that allow the music to feel ethereal, as if coming from far away, maybe somewhere in the sky. The lyrics are really honest and humble and the vocals of BSP are so calming, packaged with some sort of deep surrender. One thing I’ve noticed is that she often uses a whisper-like pitch that really sets a mysterious and sultry tone to the music, almost like a pretty black cat singing a tricky riddle in a fairytale story.

Most of the tracks have a mellow soundscape. The musical arrangements are pretty complex, with some instruments like heavy drums in the chorus and some distorted guitar sounds launching up the melodies.

The order of the songs guides you through the phases of self-acceptance. The song starts in a light tone and goes darker by the end, which is the perfect mood for self-reflection because it isn’t always pretty. Song names reveal the phases, like starting with why you lose, I don’t align and it’s only you, speaking of the pain of being chained with all the insecurity. The last song in the album is called mayday, which is simply what you do when you finally find the light, you call out for help! Gritty and dreamy, this album encourages you to look deep within yourself, without running away.

The River by God From the Machine

0

Having started as a side project for Joe Shanks and Sam Dyche to air their creative output, God From the Machine has evolved to become their main focus. With a rich repertoire that is only going to keep growing, the band’s sound has been compared to the softer side of 90s Britpop.

As a sucker for any music that can be described as soft in any way, the first seconds of The River managed to pique my interest and got me instantly curious. The Hampshire band’s latest single is a slight departure from the sound of their late 2021 debut album.

Starting with a shimmering guitar riff, a deep, boomy bass line, and a hard-hitting groove, the song’s lyrics delve into the topics of struggling with self-worth and having anxious uncertainty about the future and what it might hold, as well as a lack of confidence in the path one has chosen to walk, and they were birthed from a period of intense writer’s block. The sound has got Alternative Rock in its veins and the composition is a lush, emotional one. The singing is also heartfelt and melodic.

While it could have had more lyrical depth, the honesty and directness of the words manage to create an atmosphere of introspection that was beautifully amplified by the melancholic composition and the slow tempo.

The River is a stunning Alt Rock song that managed to hook me from the first bars, and keep me listening intently until the last second. God From the Machine has gained a new fan who’s going to be waiting for more.

Buddy Hollywood by Chris Hudgins

0

Buddy Hollywood is the soulful, musically packed, colorful, beautiful, latest single from Texas’s own Chris Hudgins.

Chris Hudgins is a Lubbock native singer/songwriter whose music is so full of soul and color that they just slide over the senses. Buddy Hollywood managed to cover my senses with the sweet and potent feel of wanting to practice my perfect stride down my city’s nicest, boujee streets. A soulful stunner based on a simple composition, that’s colorful and charismatic.

The vocal performance from Hudgins is so versatile, reaching crazy highs so effortlessly it’s unbelievable before gliding down the scale to smooth, flowing lows. The featured verse from Dubxilla is also stunning, with a seductive flow and a warm, cozy texture to the voice. The arrangement is acoustic and earthy, and the guitar solo is so intricate, with jazzy and bluesy chops and a colorful attitude.

This gorgeous, simple, and direct piece of soul is all over the place. With hints of Blues, Jazz, R&B, and Contemporary Pop, it’s a sweet reminder that those descriptions tend to come full circle at times, that they are, indeed, just words. A genre-crossing song that stands as its own thing. Stunning, bold, empowering. With a solo that’s like, really nice.
