Total Perspective by Nactus Kunan

0

English band Nactus Kunan, based in Nottingham, UK, released a wavy indie pop tune called ‘’Total perspective’’, on the 14th of October. After a 2 year hiatus because of Corona, this is song is their first comeback. Nactus is a synth-heavy, bedroom pop band, consisting of three members, Jack Kwiecinski (vocals, synths), Joe Bone (piano, synths), and Antony Onorati (bass, synths).

They all went to school together in Beeston. They are influenced by 80’s sophist pop like The Style Council, Sade, and The Blue Nile. Some of its contemporary inspirations include Tame Impala and Artic Monkeys. The band is now obviously back to their specialty with a fresh mind and material.

Total perspective is a song about time spent in places or on things you don’t love. It’s about a person who is stuck in their office job and feels like their life is being wasted on things that they don’t enjoy. I mean, don’t we all sometimes feel like that? The idea is such a universal feeling, making the song really relatable.

The overall sound is really spacey and psychedelic in a sense but in an electronic, post-modern kind of way. The rhythm is medium paced, and the intensity and high energy of the chorus are what give the song the pop element, but minus the over-positive tone pop songs usually have. The tone is actually a little bit melancholic in a subtle way. It’s a really chill and emotionally loaded song.

The vocals are sung in a really artistic and cool way, there is something really inviting in Jack’s voice. The musical arrangement is rich, with a lot of drum, xylophone, orgue, and bass guitar sound effects. This song is made for people who want to listen to something intense but at the same time, enjoy a soundscape of chill, synthy beats.

The Saint Petersburg-based Hip-Hop artist, Jean~Baptiste, sees the future clearly, and it’s all about him. If you want a peppy glimpse into the future, he’ll take you on a mystical adventure in his single, “I AM THE FUTURE.”

Rappers tend to flex their qualities and what they own. Nate Jean-Baptiste, AKA Jean~Baptiste, is not only displaying his present but also declaring himself to be the future, and with his musical prowess, he has every right to do so.

“i AM THE FUTURE” is a real track with profound lyricism. Jean~Baptiste didn’t write with his head in the clouds! He mentioned how it’s hard to make it as a musician, portraying what it’s like to chase dreams and how the future could be hazy at times, but you need to wide open your eyes and earn your way to it. And even by then, it’s not polished, as other surprises hit you.

Jean~Baptiste sends his inspiring message through a bouncy beat and a soft melody to build a dreamy, determined atmosphere. The cadence harmonizes with the smooth singing, offering one to engage while buying the message. The vocals delicately flow, giving a top-notch performance with their raspy, confident tone.

The song has a straightforward yet killer production, that amplifies the track’s explicit lyrics while easing their impact with an upbeat rhythm and leaving you with a feel-good vibe. Malibu by Max Edwards

0

Malibu is Max Edwards latest single, and it’s a heartfelt indie gem waiting for attention.

Max Edwards is an Indie Pop singer/songwriter whose brand is pristine, clean-cut, well-thought, and heartfelt melancholia. The Vancouver-based artist, currently getting formal education in Media and Recording, does it all. He’s been making songs since he was a little kid humming melodies and having grown with that passion steadily growing inside him, it was just a matter of time before he started to record his own music. After years of learning how to harness the internet and make it work for him, he started going to school to know more about the business, while relentlessly working to hone his craft. He writes the song and is fully responsible for the production of every aspect.

Malibu is a sad little slow burner with a tasty sound. Starting with Max’s voice and singing. His style is one that marries Indie’s teenage sorrow to R&B’s sleazy lulls. The result is original and simultaneously smooth and familiar. Definitely sets a big part of the vibe. His range is also impressive, going effortlessly from whisper lows on the parts without drums sections, to soaring, but understated, highs in the backing harmonies of the chorus. The control and the reach are a thing to behold when listening to Edwards’ music. The composition is a couple of sweet 4 chord loops that incorporate the infamous Creep progression, but in this song’s soundscape, it’s completely indistinguishable and is beautifully served by the melodies and the arrangements to create a totally original thing. Dazzling teen melancholia. The soundscape is acoustic, with roomy drums, and a crystal clear electric guitar playing a reserved part full of colorful ornamentation, along with a hefty synth bass line that’s warm, massive, and nuanced.

Max Edwards is a musician with fantastic talent and an astonishing work ethic. He claims to be a born artist. A bold claim. But reading a little about him, and listening to a bit more, it’s very easy to deduce just that.

Album: Boomer Vibe “Sessions” by William Sanford

0

Electronic music artist William Sanford based in Crownpoint, US dropped an eclectic and creative psychedelic album of 10 tracks on the first of October, called ‘Boomer Vibe Sessions.’’ Earlier in his musical journey, as Sanford was trying to find a category in which he can describe his music genre, a blogger told him it’s best described as Pscydelia, but not in a ‘dinosaur’ kind of way. This made Sandford question the concept of time. He asked himself what it means to make psychedelic music that matches today’s definition of this musical genre as opposed to what he grew up listening to. From this idea, the album emerged to grace us with a rich and unique listening experience. His inspirations come from Downtempo, IDM, ambient, and art rock. Some of his unique musical qualities include fragments, bits, and pieces of soundtracks, and video games that completely transform the musical pieces he creates.

Sanford’s expression of his current situation as a forty-plus person in an ever-changing postmodern world is what constitutes this album, embracing both the progressive beauty of today’s musical nature and the longing for the nostalgia of earlier sounds. This album is literally a time machine into a glimpse of the past and futuristic electronic sounds. The album introduces a certain kind of character, Mr.Gramaphone, who leads us into the trippy story of music and nostalgic yet extremely modernized sound. The overall sound is a real treat, something tasteful and totally new. The music is generally really chill and groovy, combining the 70’s and 80’s psychedelic rock bands’ sound with synth wave and space ambient sound. The rhythm of most of the tracks is medium-paced. Nothing too fast or too slow, just perfect to just lay back and enjoy. The musical arrangements are highly complex, with an abundance of instruments and sound effects. There is a lot of mellow piano, upbeat disco music sounds, xylophones, synth waves, early 2000s electronic sound, groovy melodies, and even horror ambient sounds! Sandford was able to blend old and new sounds of psychedelia and art rock records into a sweet portrayal of how the new and old age can co-exist together, and not the other way round. Every track tells a story with a different sound. The very notable special effect sounds of these tracks are the soundtracks of old advertisements, radio announcements, and old Tv sounds that really soak you up with nostalgic vibes.

The order of the songs is brilliant because it takes you from Mr.Grampphone’s nostalgic records and sends you into a disengaged spacey sound and imagination of the merging of the old and new worlds, starting with ‘Florals with Mr gramophone’’, with a lot of percussion instruments inspired from rock band rhythms, ambient sound with a horn’s sound effect, ‘Space race’,  which starts with a radio piece, lots of drums and soft synthy sounds, and ‘Pluto will always be a planet in a boomer’s heart’’, which is a really revealing name since pluto has been ruled out of the planetary system in the 2000s. It has a lot of played-with vocals, and jazzy 70’s sounds with distorted psychedelic guitar and a darker vibe. We then descend to earth and the reality of a boomer who wants to be relevant now yet still holding on to who they really are. Songs Like ‘Boomers got a gramophone’’,’’ We may be old but our brains still dance’’, and ‘ghosts be vibin’’ show us that,  to the last track, that’s asking you to meditate and relax, after this intense journey. I really recommend this album, it is highly creative and original. You simply cannot miss this rich musical experience.

One Of These Days by Nicky Lipp

0

Artist Nicky Lipp released a new song called ‘ One of these days’’ on the 14th of October, from Edinburgh, UK. Get ready for some cheerful tunes full of life and hope as you listen to this rock-pop jam. This aspirational synth op music has turned heads in Scotland, and Lipp has a great history of selling out tickets to his shows although he is still head starting his journey after his reinvention after one decade of self-discovery.

The song’s idea is all about the notion that someday you will be relieved from your worries, stress, and bad experiences, and there is hope that you will be introduced to a love that has no shame. Following the upbeat visionary lyrics, the music has a positive tone with a medium pace rhythm, fun piano melodies, and light drums. A notable sound in the song is a clapping sound effect. The song ends on an intense note, with a cool guitar solo that adds a touch of rock to the pop nature of the song.  The vocals of Lipp are full of grace as he switches between high and low pitches, giving the song a wide range of emotions and a dynamic sound. If you’re feeling down, this song will be your absolute go-to for a change of mood.

When We Say Goodbye by K I T

0

They say that with winter approaching and Christmas feelings intensifying, October with its cozy atmosphere is the ideal month to fall in love. But, sadly, you can also fall out of love in the midst of all of these wonderful things. K I T’s “When We Say Goodbye,” released on October 7, will give us a taste of a breakup story through a soulful performance and a warm blended sound.

K I T follows up his EP, “Close Up,” which was released in 2021, with his single, “When We Say Goodbye,” which he co-wrote with Mike Halls of Clean Cut Kid. The song serves as a great teaser for what’s to come.

“When We Say Goodbye” starts with a dazzling intro that succeeds in capturing your attention and maintaining it till the end. The acoustic chords give a warm sense and give the feeling that they’re accompanying the vocals when singing. It’s not a happy-themed song, but you’ll find yourself grooving to the rhythm and trying to learn the lyrics to sing along.

The light-hearted sound with the pop, rock, and folk fusion makes it seem easy to say goodbye and let go. You’ll be hearing a vintage melody that’s wrapped up with a futuristic flair. I think the classic vibe it’s filled with is one of the main reasons it sounds reassuring.

K I T’s passionate, melodic vocals deliver the lines sincerely and tenderly. His voice has a melancholic tone, yet it sounds peaceful. The lyrical content itself is written in a poetic manner that portrays the softest pushing and pulling. The poignant delivery feels like this is your sign to say goodbye if you’re clinging to a relationship that you shouldn’t be holding on to. It works fine as an anthem for healthy breakups.

If you miss the classical soundscapes with their solid arrangement and production, you’ll find your need when hearing “When We Say Goodbye” below.

Sometimes by Faïnn

Artist and songwriter Faïnn dropped a brand new second track since her first debut song in April of this year, ‘’Sometimes.’’ All the way from Nashville, US, this is a harmonious and uplifting pop song. Faïnn started her musical career by making cover songs of hits from the 80s and 90s like ‘The Final Countdown.’ She writes indie pop music with spacey productions and cinematic video clips. Inspired by artists like Lana del Rey, Dido, and Leon, she is driven by her belief in the power of voice and the art of storytelling through song. The song is a collaboration between her and grammy award-winning songwriter and producer Femke.

This song is a dreamy indie pop ballad packed with warmth and emotions. The idea it promotes is self-care and sporting a positive attitude even when you’re at your lowest, which naturally happens to all of us. This song is so easily relatable to anyone and resonates very much with our daily life experiences since we are all prone to face hardships. The song’s overall sound is a slow emotional burn through sadness and hope. The lyrics are simple and straight to the point: the comfort of being imperfect and overcoming your struggles. Finn’s vocals are very angelic and easy on the ear as she flaunts a lot of high-pitch tones in her singing. The musical arrangement is made up of magical, positive-tone piano tunes and some synth sounds making the song feel ethereal. Hit this song’s play button for a warm and reassuring vibe.

BandCamp 2 by Ranski Gleechie

0

Rapper artist Ranski Gleechie based in Toronto, Canada dropped a firey hip-hop/rap song “Bandcamp’’, on the 28th of September. It is his second single release this year and he had help recording the track with Ovo producer JMak, who made the beat. After being released from a 5-year jail time sentence in March 2021, he went back to making music as he did before serving the federal sentence. He was heating the Toronto music scene and dropped a banger song ‘Ballin’ no gym’’ in the summer of 2016, which made a huge comeback. Gleechie’s new track is paving the way back for him to hop into the hip-hop world again for sure.

Bandcamp 2 is a spicey hip-hop song that has the artist flaunting his talent in spitting bars and wordplays. The song’s idea is that no matter what happens Bandcamp is always here, as an artist platform showcasing all the audio, which means that Gleechie is making money as an artist and he’s still on the way up even more. Gleechie’s vocals are smooth and nonchalant. The overall sound of the song is a gangster and full of confidence. The rhythm is not too fast and not too slow, and the music has a lot of bass and drums. Notable sounds are the cool ad-libs made with heavy autotune. Listen to this song to spice up your day.

PakMan by Ranski Gleechie

0

Ranski Gleechie is not your typical artist, he came up with his musical creations in the past years while serving a 5-year Federal Sentence. The hip-hop and rap music artist is now releasing his music all the way from Toronto while making a strong comeback with his latest release “PakMan.” A track with dope beats, a melodic approach, and a vibe like no other. The artist’s voice is significant; a monotonic tone with a deep voice that sets the mood for the entire song.

Ranski showcased his songwriting abilities in this song where he chose to rap about a pot dealer called “PakMan” who is known in the neighborhood, while the police are after him. It has a rhythmic tune to the lyrics that synchronizes with the beats perfectly.

Ranski has the first release since being a free man called “Proud Of It,” and “BandCamp2” where he tells his story out through it. Each piece he makes has a backstory with which he connects his fans. There are also, his old releases from 2016 “BandCamp,” “Push 2 Start,” “Ballin’ No Gym,” and “They Watchin.”

Who we be by Rose Spearman

0

Rose Spearman’s 7th October released song seems to be opening unhealed wounds again. “Who we be” is a song about the feeling of not belonging. The dominant feeling among millions of people in the current generation.

Through the song lyrics, Rose tells the true story of her reunion as a white girl with her black grandfather. And the grunts of astonishment that appeared from the crowd around them made her feel for the first time that she doesn’t belong.

The Netherlands-based artist wrote the song based on her personal experience of being scattered between her white and black family roots. Rose’s father was also a great inspirational element for her. His story of living between the USA and the Netherlands trapped him in a constant search for a home which encouraged Rose to write a song about what both, she and her father experienced.

“Who we be” is part of the artist’s upcoming album which is centralized around some of the deepest and most sincere feelings of the singer. Lost love, and losing yourself are 2 of the topics that Rose will also discuss in her new album.

All the songs of Rose’s upcoming album have a blue-like, and soulful melancholic yet full of hope. But contrary to the album theme, “who we be” is made using programmed electronic sounds. The song’s different style puts it under a new musical genre called “New Indie Industrial Soul.”

The artist’s latest single “Who we be” continues depending on her known style of producing music, loading it with mixed instruments with layered vocals is her way of production that seems to be liked widely by her fans. As her previously released song; “The Summer Falls“ reached 99K on Spotify while “Break The Code” got 26K listeners.
