Groove by Crisworld

0

Crisworld. The young writer, singer, and rapper. Had released his newest song “Groove” the last August from his place of residence in Las Vegas. The city of pure pleasure and lustrous things has taught Crisworld -maybe- the most important lesson in his life. Life isn’t about amusement but in fact about all the hard and unamusing things.

“Groove” is the newest released song of Crisworld, which was simply written about all the unamusing things, the struggles, the pressures, and the hard decisions that must be taken in life. And most importantly trying to make the balance between all these elements together at a young age.

It seemed that the young artist who is known to be influenced by J. Cole, JID, Pop Smoke, and Aaron May was trying to create his unique style in rap. He succeeded by discussing his personal experiences and thought through his rap. As his latest release “Groove” tells the story of a young man’s problems in creating balance in life. While last June released-song “No Man” tells the story of Crisworld who has been given a piece of advice not to fear anyone in life. Predictably the path of discussing his personal experiences and thoughts would create a connection between the artist and his fans. Who eagerly would like to listen to rap songs that speak about the same things they suffer from as youth.

Crisworld. Started his first musical composition trials at the age of ten. Through time he was able to develop his skills and abilities greatly. Resulting in the creation of 5 songs by working completely alone.

As he is used to writing, recording, mixing, and mastering his musical productions solo inside his home studio, or in other words his room. The room he succeeded in turning into a full creative space. Ready to produce neat musical pieces.

CREATURES…Act III: JOPO by RPxSB

0

Sab Francisco-based artist James Moore who goes by the name RpxSB released a popping hip-hop album, ‘Creatures-ACT lll: JOPO’’, the third part of the three-act, triple-heavy album, on The 9th of September. It’s made up of 8 songs and is released by their independent label, Vibeland. Roddy Picante and Stay Bizzy are childhood friends who decided to take their craft of making music more seriously after high school.

Their name is also part of their mantra, ‘’rock plaid and survives bullshit.’’ The album is a hip-hop genre, with themes that delve into real-life issues and encounters, so it’s safe to say it’s extremely relatable to all of us. Similar artists who made the same type of music are Dom Kennedy, Earth Gang, and Odd Future.

We’re all about the third and last album Creatures act lll. First of all, the artwork of the album is really catchy and artistic. There is a graphic character of a clown that looks happy but kind of dead because the theme of this album is the idea of a come-up after going through a rough patch of anger and sadness, then acting like nothing matters and drowning in vices and then at last rising from the chaos and mess and embracing that nothing matters still, yet everything does. The overall sound of the album is really chill with light melodies.

The tone is positive and mellow which matches the lyrics that speak of resilience from many issues that one has probably faced in their life whether it’s a depressing job or difficult personal relationships. The vocals of both rappers are really bouncy and the bars are smooth and on point with the music. There is a cloud rap inspiration, the music is the kind that you wanna listen to at 6 am in the morning. The musical arrangement of most tracks isn’t extremely complex but resonates deeply as rich sounds as you listen. There are a lot of synthy, wavey beats and old-school hip-hop smooth beats that include saxophones and xylophone sound effects.

It really feels like you’re floating on a cloud. Notable sounds are sound pieces of children’s voices in some of the tracks, and vocals at the back of the tracks that are humming tunes.

The order of the songs tells the story of resilience from a totally depressing phase. Starting with the song ‘Bad lemons’, the artist is telling us to make lemonade out of lemons anyway. The names show positivity from the start and then go to a little bit of a darker tone since the album is also telling us to face the hard realities. ‘ Friday night at tootsies’, ‘Big city blues, and ‘coast to coast, mostly talk about working a job you don’t want to, hitting up women you don’t actually want to spend your life with, and traveling out the city to free your soul.  Some of the end’s tracks like ‘Jaded’ and ‘Sprinkler system’ is all about exhaustion and continuity. This album is one hell of a ride, something real with a twist of coolness and chill vibes for your mornings or evenings.

The Ritual by Benjamin Corson

0

Strangeness is the magical word that the New York-based musician Benjamin Corson has used to grab our attention and turn it into an integral part of his newly released musical production “The Ritual”

The track is a vibrant scene of uneasiness and weirdness! First, your ears are tickled by the crackling sounds, then the horns shock you seconds before both the fire hissing sounds and the sudden appearance of a kid’s grunt start, leaving you with a certain feeling that all your senses are being invaded by an outstanding piece of music.

In less than one minute you are under the sway of your mind which jumps continuously to absorb this many incomprehensible components of the musical track and to understand…what is happening here?!

Benjamin. The artist started playing guitar and got involved in the music industry when he was a 15-year-old teenager. It seems he has imbibed music in such a deep way that sensation overwhelms his unique musical language. His outstanding abilities are thought to be the thing that supported him to stand firm in the music industry today.

The 28-minute length musical piece is filled with Benjamin’s magical techniques in dissolving human voices with the gradual rising music and the interrupting notes of the bass guitar which spread a mysterious feeling in the scene, and finally, the sound effects that smoothly take over the whole scene calling listeners to silence their voices and listen to their inner noises.

In his newest release “The Ritual” Benjamin has professionally taken his musical production to a completely different space, away from all the determinants and rituals imposed on artists in the music industry. He simply made his own vision of what the word ritual may mean, Corson created a practical application for the concept “The Ritual” instead of choosing “The Ritual” only as the track name.

Run Away (Into the Night) by Olym

0

“Will you run into the night?!” This is the master question that has been asked by the New York-based singer, songwriter, lyricist, and producer OLYM in his second musical release “Run Away”. Where choices are the core concept that this song is centered on. Would you choose to let go of all the things that hold you back and go on a trip in the nights of New York City to experience the real dangerous, mysterious, and unpredictable life?!

The freshly released “Run Away” is a sequel to OLYM’s debut single “Finest Hour”. The cleverness in choosing both the name of the song and its topic makes it easier for fans to see the 2 songs as a full story of someone who is trying to let go of all the conservatism in his life and run away into the night. Trying to find his day’s or maybe life’s finest hours.

The release of OLYM’s second song after one year of his first song “Finest Hour” reflects the development and evolution of OLYM’s musical style. Also, his skills as an artist in producing a song that is richer in the upbeats and has multi-layers of vocals influenced by Euro-pop and funk styles.

No wonder the “Finest Hour” vibes have been widely liked by listeners, reaching 16K on Spotify and more than 131k on SoundCloud, given the inspirational elements used by OLYM in producing his music. The newest released song can be considered as a sum-up of the elements that shaped OLYM’s experience as an Artist. Starting from his life in New York, and how much he is influenced by Madonna, Versace, and the philosophy of his life. This combination is presented through the fusion of classical instruments, choir, dance-pop, and disco, resulting in the creation of a vibrant electronic pop piece.

Smile by SpaceR

0

All the way from the outskirts of Prague we have a piece of the cutest house music that you might be able to find today. SpaceR is a Czech music producer whose sphere is what can be called the progressive house, and if that sounds like an obscure niche of electronica, it’s probably because that is the case. What’s refreshing is the pristine layer of positivity that SpaceR manages to drape his music with.

Happy music can be a tricky concept. In today’s world where mental health issues, constant geopolitical strife, and generalized malaise are prevalent in the air we breathe, it’s somewhat rare to find an artist willing to go to that place. Happy music can require nuance to deliver that emotion unfiltered, unaltered, and truthful. What SpaceR manages to achieve is what be described as a mild success. It’s a success, but that’s a little bit flawed.

Smile is a syrupy piece of music. Incessantly positive, relentlessly cheerful. All elements aim to serve this function, and while nothing is over the top or cringeworthy, there’s something a little off-putting about this massive amount of merriness. It ends up sounding a little untrustworthy, like a TV ad showing a mother incredibly happy that her daughter has finally got her brain microchipped… the music is nice and is perfectly fine, but the message does not inspire massive trust. With that being said, and putting the tinfoil hat aside, Smile is a ton of fun. The production is top-notch. The sounds are all well-curated and fit their pockets in the mix like a glove. The liquid gold synth pads cover everything in a succulent layer of glitter, the beats are solid and perfectly danceable, the arpeggiated melodies are all sweet and shimmery, and the sound design is consistent on the whole.

SpaceR’s message is ridiculously sweet to the point of it being difficult to believe, or maybe I’m just a very trusting person. All in all, Smile is beautifully put-together and is very pretty, and I’ve got to admit, it did put a smile on my face.

Call Me by OSP

0

Given a proper chance, all of Call Me’s shortcomings end up feeling marginal and negligible next to its core musical value. A fun, catchy, and cheeky little number that deserves a bit of concentration.

Call Me comes from Reading’s own, OSP. OSP is an alternative indie R&B act who’ve been getting decent critical acclaim for its debut self-titled EP. Call Me sees the group taking on a more heartfelt and personal approach, with tender lyricism and passionate delivery. Call Me can be discussed from two distinct standpoints. The first is the music, the backdrop to the rapping, which is memorable enough. The music consists of a scratchy, consistent beat that ebbs and flows, massively impacting the dynamic feel, and adding context to the rap flow. The harmonic content is delivered through an upright piano that’s equally bright and balanced within the mix.

The piano is played beautifully and is characterful enough to demand attention and not just be a derivative part of the mix, with a lot of colorful ornamentation and nuance. From the lyrical standpoint, this song starts to vary off the path ever so slightly, with the lines being short and excessively direct, making the flow jerky and a little lackluster. This is made up for by some actual heartfelt lines that are smart and impactful that add up too much and manage to fill in all the gaps.

Call Me is a sensual offering from the eccentric English trio OSP. Essentially flawed, but balanced, it manages to stand up on its own and is a fun, enjoyable, quirky R&B popper that’s got a lot of personalities. A solid follow-up to a brilliant EP and an amazing single.

King Of Toxic by Qastalani

0

A Singaporean artist “Qastalani” has been making contemporary R&B music since 2019. Since then he always puzzled us with his captivating songs. Excellent lyricist who often finds himself expressing his emotions in his own words. Always using laid-back music with jazzy sounds which gets you imagining romantic/dark scenes. Qas released a new single this year calling it “King Of Toxic” in which you can find his creative mind in it.

The music Qas put in this release is beautifully toxic that can catch your attention with the rhythmic beats he produces. In the song “King of Toxic,” a cheater in a relationship is shown to be aware of a flaw in their personality. Once a cheater is caught they’re done and can leave a scar on the other. The trust can never get built back as it was before.

At first, there is a beating tune and then it goes quiet with a background soft vocal adds in joining Qas. A guitar is playing softly in the background which indicates some sadness in there.

He continues saying “I’m what you need” to the other women he is cheating on throughout the song while not being a faithful lover to their own girl.

Qas has always put his stories through into his music and has an excellent vibe he puts in the music is perfect. Making music that is worth listening to like “Replace You,” “Drunk Text,” “Gin N Juice,” “Faithful,” and “Sex Eyes.” The songs are perfect for a night drive on some cold lonely nights filled with the earthy scent that comes after a rain.

Cosmopolitan Girl by Kelsie Kimberlin

0

The concept of “home” differs from one person to another. But it has been agreed that it’s more than land or any physical place in general. Wherever you don’t feel like a stringer, you’ll feel at home. The Ukrainian American artist, Kelsie Kimberlin, is taking us across the globe to deliver a humane message in her single, “Cosmopolitan Girl.”

Kelsie Kimberlin is a rising pop star that believes in using her voice to inspire people and speak loudly for those who can’t. She’s based in Washington, DC with Ukrainian roots, which made her dedicate her song, “Cosmopolitan Girl,” to supporting Ukraine and sending an international peace message.

“Cosmopolitan Girl” is a light-hearted pop song with infectious beats that is crafted to take us on an adventure around countries with different cultures through the positive atmosphere, pleasant lyricism, and traveling-themed music video.

The song doesn’t mention what is happening in Ukraine and doesn’t support the case in a direct way. However, as we go to Paris, New York, Kyiv, Seoul, Cairo, Tokyo, London, Shanghai, and Dubai, the amusing music video, suggests feeling the intimacy of home anywhere on earth, as all of these cities have their own characteristics features, yet they’ll at the core have humans who are supposed to live in harmony and embrace their differences. Only then will one know by heart that:

“I know wherever I may roam,

I’m always gonna feel at home.”

It’s nice that a tune that’s promoting a serious matter isn’t made through dramatic melodies. Contrariwise, it has colorful rhythms and earworm hooks. The pop sound is structured to fit the roaming-the-world mood and spread the joy that comes with such an experience. Kelsie Kimberlin’s vocal line is the most euphoric element of the single. She’s singing with a delightful timbre, using her melodious, tuneful vocals to spread peace and cordiality.

It is not every day that you come across a dancy track that uses its sanguine cadence to lift your spirit and build the right amount of energy to mash with the world, explore it, re-love it, and feel the blessings in it.

Boy by MARQelectronica

0

“A creator of electro dance pop” is how the Newcastle-based singer and songwriter MARQelectronica refers to himself. MARQ became the center of attention after he released his album “Savage times” last July which was praised by the critics as one of the best electronic music albums in the UK.  The Artist is now striking the scene once more with his new single “boy.”

A hint about MARQ’s style of musical composition can be understood by how he defines himself as an electro-dance pop creator.  He never tends to choose complicated lyrics for his songs, which seems to be the secret method he uses to direct his fans’ concentration more toward his musical compositing style and the notes he produces. This concept is evident in the chosen lyrics of the “boy”, which can easily be memorized by listening to it once.

MARQ’s musical style is widely liked by the fans, leading many of his songs like “Bad bones” to reach 12K listeners on Spotify, same with “the spirit of the shaman” which has been listened to by 8k followers.

No differences in the composition style between his “savage times” and his latest song “boy”. Which tells the story of discovering the bad truth about someone’s dirty games and showing him that it is over. As MARQ is still showing his unique skills in mixing deep house beats and orchestral strings with EDM synths. Resulting in the creation of highly energetic musical pieces that are thought to be driving dancers crazy.

MARQ, Who is known as the revivalist of 80’s pop music, is definitely on his way to stealing the lights again with “boy” which showed his abilities in turning early pop music into modern electro-pop that rocks the dance floors.

Perrenque by Departure

0

Colombian artist Camilo Toston, under the name ‘Departure’, takes us on a bubbly and rhythmic adventure with his latest track ‘’ Perrenque’’, from London, UK. Claimed as his fourth release this year, the track was released on the 6th of October. He is musically inspired by big names in the international EDM industry; like Solomun, and Ben Bohmer. Toston previously mentioned that he is interested in exploring the collage of organic, tactile sounds and digital, synthesized ones.

This notion in itself gives Toston space for special attention to what sounds he decides to put together. He is determined to bring different elements to the table of the electronic genre.

Perrenque is a 5-minute track that is dedicated to his sister.  It’s a small homage to her because he sees that she is an example of a life greatly lived. The name means many things: bravery, courage, and resilience. The overall sound of the song is very comforting, and calming and takes you on a trip. There is a vocal sound in the track that is cut as it plays many times, making a unique sound effect of a human, creating even more texture to the sound as a whole. Although the song is purely electronic, there is a feeling that is filled with nature about it in the first half.

A notable sound is a sound like a car honking from a distance and things breaking discretely at the begging of the song as it builds up into the intense electronic chorus. The musical arrangement is complex and blends all the sounds very well. You can tell there is a xylophone used which is also special.

Check this song for a cool soundtrack to your life, and the rest of the tracks, for a real ‘departure from planet earth!
