Drowning by Sarah Anne Fernandez

0

A lot rides on the shoulders of debut singles. Needless to explain, they must carry something within, that makes the listeners thirst for more from the artist. So, does Sarah Anne Fernandez’s debut single deliver? Let’s Find out.

New York-based Sarah Anne Fernandez has years for creating impactful music, that can enact a change, even if not grand or global, a personal change suffices, in mind or even in the mood. Drowning, her debut single is an ode to personal anxieties, living with insecurities, and not loving them. That foreboding sense of not feeling okay with oneself is one that will resonate with most of us. With vulnerable words that express that sense of longing for personal peace, Sarah Anne delivers a beautifully eloquent vocal performance, with calculated harmonies, and dynamics that swiftly swell and contract, smoothly, smartly, and masterfully.

Empowered and influenced by Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo, among others, Sarah Anne Fernandez follows suit with a distinctive arrangement that keeps things fresh, like the best ones do. For this song, the sweet progression and powerful melodies are supported with characterful, roomy drums that live in the background quite jubilantly, along with a throbbing, consistent bassline that provides a soft cushion, both making the song sound vast and airy, a far cry from the heavily compressed pop that we’ve become accustomed to.

A sensitive cut that displays bountiful musicality from an up-and-coming young pop star. Sarah Anne Fernandez was very successful, and she left us thirsting for more.

Ring the Bell by Breon S.Y.N.D.E.L

Things could turn hard at some point, and life couldn’t formulate in the best form you planned earlier. And that is when Breon S.Y.N.D.E.L ultimately “Rings the bell” and drills in the forgotten dry heart with his new drill Hip-Hop track.

From Brooklyn, US hails Breon S.Y.N.DEL releasing ‘Ring The Bell’ another track this year after releasing a number of singles earlier this year and an album marking the year for himself.

The track demonstrates emotional repression and has some rage mixed with despair and depression heavily touchable in the mellow melodies that are composed adjacently with the drill-trap type beat.

Ring the Bell’ is focused and Inspired by the life of Breon as the rapper stated following his car racing accident, where it is implied in the lyrics that depression is camping all over in parts like “F**k it, I swear I’m not leaving my room, F**k it, I swear I’m gonna make it my tomb”. Though lyrically the track is very emotionally expressive, I believe that it needed to have more depth in vocabulary and meanings to be more precise in describing the mental and emotional state.

The beat is astonishing mixing up a trap with a drill having some melodies along with Breon’s smooth flow that reminded me a bit of Kendrick Lamar’s flow style.

Will this be the last release by Breon S.Y.N.D.E.L this year? Let’s hope not.

Save Me from Myself by Mr Streetz

0

If we hit rock bottom at a certain point in our lives, we find it quite dark and infinitely deep with no way out. At this point, we might use the help of someone who’d be our flashlight and lifeline. In his single, “Save ME from Myself,” Mr Streetz offers us a soulful narrative of a man being pulled out of the hell he unwillingly created.

“My music is a method of understanding and connecting with a person’s happiness, sadness, rage, fear, envy, etc. Whatever the emotion is that we need to feel, my music can help to allow a person to sit back and just feel whatever is happening.” ― Mr. Streetz

The London-based rapper, Mr. Streetz, conveys the emotions and struggles that random people on the streets might be fighting in silence. He surely knows how to connect with others through his music, express their thoughts and sensations, and make them feel less lonely.

“Save Me from Myself” has a hard-hitting lyricism, an intense performance, and melancholic, moving rhythms, all combining to depict how an addict feels when he’s trapped, wants to be sober but is unable to, and has been flopping and waiting for someone who would cut the blaming and shaming cycle and give him a hand, which in the lyrics is a woman who took his side and led him to the exit.

The poignant lyrics grab your attention with the story and make you relate by remembering the time when you were at your lowest. Mr. Streetz’s passionate storytelling serves as an outstanding element to strike a chord and get you moved. He naturally flows with a genuine, sincere timbre, and the melodic Pop chorus is vulnerable and heartbreaking.

The track’s sound backs up its atmosphere. It’s edgy, tense, and touching. With mellow acoustic samples and minimal, fresh yet dark production. The composition and vocals work well as a team to express how it feels to fight these demons and how light it’s when a savior angel finds a loophole for you.

The music video complements the authentic experience. With the streets’ art, the ocean, the lighthouse, the woods, and Mr. Streetz’s honest delivery, just fit and add more depth to the song.

It’s not a track that would cheer you up. But it would give you hope and warm company, in addition to introducing you to outstanding talent, an artist who cares to be real and delivers expressive, meaningful music.

Rich by ELI MONTANNA

0

In order to make music in the Rap scene that resonates with the listener, you need to craft catchy beats and have a sincere message. The rapper, Eli Montanna, is clearly going this way because he’s rich in both musical and spiritual manners. His single “Rich” is a way to see his skills as an artist and his aspirations as a heart-warming human being.

“Rich” has bouncy beats and superb performance, but it also has a warm vibe that makes you feel you’re not alone. The song inspires one to dream, envision a better future, and recognize genuine blessings and what truly matters.

All of the elements are structured in an upbeat fashion to both clarify ELI’s purpose and boost your down-soul and give you a spark of hope. The dope production by Native has captured the nostalgic and daydreaming senses.

Eli’s rapping is uplifting, and he has a soaring-into-my-dreams attitude in his raw, delicate tone. His storytelling takes you to the streets he grew up in, into the memories he has in mind, and into the desires, he has in his heart.

The music video will take you on a sentimental tour and make the story lying within the soulful lyrics burst into life. It’s a tour around his neighborhood and his heart. The video has a mural of the rapper Nipsey Hussle, who was shot and killed in 2019, and the sensitive artist was influenced by his story to create the single’s theme. It also has ELI’s taking from the heart at the end, elaborating on what he means by “Rich.”

Maybe the pre-hook says, “I can’t wait till I get rich,” but it’s crystal clear that ELI MONTANNA has a rich talent and a rich heart. I guess all that is left is to be rich money-wise. With him grinding harder and dropping tunes like “Rich”, he’ll break through and have them in no time.

Friends by Bo Weber

0

It’s almost 20 years now since Friends started, and it persists as a mainstay is our pop culture to this day. Which is probably what drove Bo Weber to release this latest single of his. Called Friends, with a video that’s an accurately cut montage of the 10 years of Friends. Love Friends or hate it, no one can deny its lasting effect.

One might be forgiven for accusing the Minneapolis native of being lazy. Friends is old and is kind of an overused trope. But the video might be what overturns this charge. The inspiration is a sweet childhood memory of Weber and his sister, as they used to sit around watching a muted TV while listening to the radio, waiting for the rare moments when both the sound and the vision aligned, and watching this video, you can easily feel that effect, as it is edited in such a way to make the characters appear as they are singing along to the chorus. Moreover, the scenes chosen for the video do fit the storyline of the words. Lack of Budget or not, Bo Weber managed to make an endearing video.

The music might, unfortunately, leave a little to be desired. The track is chock full of modern Trap sensibilities. Trilling hi-hats, sleepy vocals, minimal composition with sparse instrumentation. It’s a proven formula that can hit or miss, depending on who’s listening. The beautiful vocal chemistry between Bo and his feature, Amanda Yang, is a noteworthy element. Leave the video and the whole Friends thing aside, this song can be saved by the grace of the vocal harmony on its own.

Bo Weber’s latest song is full of artistic merit, as it is full of overused details. You’ll either love it or not stand it. Unfortunately, we have to be impartial.

conversations by Jodré

0

From Portugal comes Jodré, an emotional powerhouse of a singer. With Angolan roots and a base of operations in Lancaster, the man is a multi-cultured troubadour who knows a thing or two about putting one’s heart on a record.

Conversations, his latest single, is released to talk about his first serious relationship. He meant to write a song that expresses the purity of those earlier days in a relationship and managed to somehow faultlessly capture that. Through the use of a slow tempo, his melodic high Tenor, and Jazzy progressions that add just the right amount of spice, Jodré’s latest offering is a heartfelt, gorgeous piece of contemporary RnB that evades the usual pitfalls that can easily make music of this kind derivative and unexciting, instead capitalizing on just what makes him stand out, and that’s a beautiful voice, and an ear for melodies and harmonies, to drop a stunning love song.

I’m quite a big fan of over-the-top love songs. Even after hearing a million different love songs, there’s a charm that will never run dry to a sensual love song that’s made from heart, and Jodré’s Conversations is definitely among those.

Get a Grip by Jonathan Shapiro

0

After a breakup, some want all the attention and care they can get, while others want just to be left alone. Jonathan Shapiro is obviously the second type, and he’s expressing himself emotionally and musically in his latest hit, “Get a Grip.”

Jonathan Shapiro is a young, emerging artist hailing from Binghamton. Although he’s only 21, we can say that he has found his niche and he’s ready to hook us with his catchy, groovy sound and raw, crispy vocals.

“Get a Grip” is the artist’s fresh release that demonstrates his organic Hip-Hop/Hyperpop sound. It’s a less than two-minute track that has a dynamic yet melancholic vibe throughout. It was more than enough to taste the capabilities this talented musician has.

A dusky acoustic intro kicks off the song. The guitar chords are what retains the dark ambiance; other than that, the electro elements present an edgy, frustrated, and energetic feel. You can hear the drumming mingling with the passionate vocals to convey the sensation of slamming the door in order to be left alone.

There’s a vocal diversity here that showcases Jonathan’s rapping prowess. His trap flair is distinct, and he goes in sync with each bar’s mood and keeps it up with the rhythms. It’s odd that he made the song over FaceTime with his ex-girlfriend, but he sincerely portrays his experience and point of view through the lyrics and each other elements.

You might find the single below relevant or not. What I can guarantee is that you’ll enjoy its contagious beats and anticipate seeing what else Jonathan Shapiro has up on his sleeves.

You Don’t Know by August König

0

The Stockholm-based August König has dropped the first of his 3 singles that he’s planning to release in the near future. Dedicated to his girlfriend, this release is gentle, delicate, sensible, and honest. Let’s find out more.

You Don’t Know is a chill, downtempo RnB cut that’s very sensual. Characterized by a lulling tempo that would be gorgeous to be danced to, the production style is very modern-vintage, perhaps taking a page out of the book of Bruno Mars and John Mayer, with the dynamic, organic drum sounds, and the stunning funk guitar licks that feature a prominent, sexy wah. Cliched, but oh so good.

The words are heartfelt and romantic, maybe not the most imaginative or inventive, but just like the overused wah, there’s absolutely nothing to fault here, it’s a tried-and-true formula that’ll just work. Perhaps the most distinctive part of the formula is August’s voice. a delicate tenor that’s fragile and exquisite.

The genuine, heartfelt warmth of this release will ensure that I personally return to it often. August König is a songwriter of tasty sensibilities and a memorable voice, and You Don’t Know is an effortlessly beautiful song.

Bits N Bobs by Pixy Jones

0

An old soulful artist has come to light with a magnificent album that was recently out for music lovers to listen to, “Pixy Jones” created this mix of funky pop with 60’s aesthetic vibes in the album “Bit N Bobs.” Each song has its mood and story that the artist presents, and he worked very hard to make them all worth listening to.

This album’s opening track, “I’m not there,” has that lonesome vibe that turns your darkest days into a tune you’ll wholeheartedly sing along to. The song “I Got Lost” is performed, you can picture a yellowish scene in the music video where people are chanting about getting lost and being far from home.

The song “Hold Your Tongue” is somewhat rebellious and depicts the tale of people who are impatiently waiting for something to happen. This piece, “Confusion,” reflects profoundly on how human interaction with one another may be perplexing at times, leaving us unsure of what to do and obsessed with the motives behind each reply.

An acoustic song called “Bad Throat” talks about the ill days that someone who has COVID could experience while also picturing the days of a sick person with some goofiness and light instruments playing in the background. “The Fool” refers to the fool being always the one to speak up and you might gain from them, but if the fool ever betrays you, you’ll wind up being the one who made the mistake in the first place.

“There’s something wrong” Singing “There’s something wrong with me and you and everyone and I don’t what am going to do” and “I just carry on until they close my gate” the lyrics are like a love song that ends up with the artist saying “I’m still in love with you.”

“I’m coming home” is about his landlord saying time is up and needs to go where he came from. Going back to the place he was raised, remembered all the nostalgic memories that were created in the past days.

With incredible originality in his mind, “Pixy Jones” is singing about every experience he has, which inspires him to write about these stories in his music. “After Darl,” “Through The Valley,” “Maureen Dreams No More,” “Wind Street,” “Dewch Draw.” These are the works of art that Pixy’s vivid intellect and imagination have produced.
