Paradise by Podge Lane

0

An inner monologue that reflects an external reality we live in. This is how we can describe the last thing that Irish singer-songwriter Podge Lane dropped in Cork, a piece titled “Paradise”.

The name of the song sounds familiar to us, but it carries a lot to Lane. Looking deeply into the various details of life, which seems bad, does not mean that we do not live well and perhaps in “Paradise” for others.

Words like “daily routine – always waiting – something bad will happen” when you meet in a track titled “Paradise” will feel very strange, wondering if something is wrong. Such is Lane’s knack for crafting a satirical mix through a daily personal monologue from real life that leaves you wondering whether to laugh or cry at this upbeat dark comedy.

A whirlwind of choices, feelings, and daily situations you find yourself in, without choosing but by your own will. When you press the play button for this song, you can consider it an icon for repeated days, repeated situations, and a repeated feeling of paradise that you do not feel.

On the melodic level, Lane couldn’t get rid of Irish folk, blurring the boundaries between folklore and indie to create music that sounds bright mixed with pungent vocals that feel cool and perhaps warm, lovable surrender. It combines uplifting energy and vibrant gadgets with heartfelt, heartfelt words.

A truly sarcastic and expressive song, Podge Lane has always fascinated us with his musical and poetic choices. These are the essential elements of a successful artist who wants to present honest and tangible art, so you will love “Paradise” and say phrases because you will find it talking to you constantly.

Abstraction in the abyss at Ferris wheel studios by Moli

0

For those of you who experienced live music as a musician playing an instrument, you’ll not find it hard to understand the feat that is coming up with music on the spot. Not just coming up with the composition, but the arrangement, and the production as well. Moli understands this difficulty, and he laughs at the face of it.

Hailing from Gurgaon, India, Moli is the Jazz/Psychedelic rock musician/Visual artist Anmol Gupta, capable of wonders. Abstraction In The Abyss (Abstraction In The Abyss Live at The Ferris Wheel Studios is the full title) sees Moli as he takes on the challenge of coming up with a whole composition, arranging and producing it while shooting a video of the live performance, all during the period of 12 hours. The piece is instrumental, the highlights are many, but chief among them is the sublime drumming and the harrowing saxophone lines. The composition is as writhing and as intricate as they come, gentle, fluid, and freeform, you can find no verses or choruses or any feasible song structure, rather time that flows and with it, musical ideas flow in abundance, showing the amazing capabilities of the multi-talented Anmol Gupta.

A truly fabulous feat of composition and arrangement, done in limited time to increase the challenge, a challenge that is beat with massive ease by this talented musician.

Electric Blues by Clinton N

0

An aesthetic Hongkonger artist “Clinton N” is playing some awesome laid-back music that is soothing to your soul, he is currently based in Ireland, and released there he released most of his songs including his new song “electric blues” which was out on the 27th of May, 2022.

Clinton seems to be old-soul inventing music that is aesthetic and warm to the background of his culture which is immensely shown in the songs and music he creates.

The song “electric blues” is about how can someone be lost on a road where people have found their passion and goals, however, in time being that someone seems to feel misfitted and fell back behind without reaching any achievement in life. Clinton here sends the message clearly with his song lyrics in this piece that we’re not alone and each person has a certain time to achieve something and has a certain desire to reach a goal that will feel like the ultimate that will get you full of life again. It’s okay to go on at your own pace.

Clinton has his way to reach out to his fans with a lot of common feelings through simple words and music. The soft vocals and instrumental talent that this artist has implemented that is in him are beautifully encouraging and admired.

Music Clinton invents truly the best and most loving pop music you can listen to while overthinking things as the music will calm your mind with tranquility.

The Flood (Dark Light Remix) by Night Tongue

0

The Flood (Dark Light Remix) is the latest release by Los Angeles-based Darkwave/Industrial duo Night Tongue. A remix of the original 2019 seven-minute-long gloomy and doomy track that was based around a guitar, this version centers around a piano and Carisa’s ethereal vocals. What I love about Night Tongue is the contradiction between the familiarity of their goth vibes and the aesthetics presented in many genres. The Flood is a prime example of how their compositions are delicate, intricate, and woven with dark emotions. The track begins with the piano and Carisa’s calm breathy chest voice with a sizzle of reverb on it. It’s enough to accentuate the preexisting wailing method she uses in her singing, but doesn’t reach the point of making you hear an echo, thus creating a feeling of loneliness and longing to be heard. That flood the band is addressing here is a metaphorical rather than a physical one- think of Pink Floyd’s infamous Wall – that the lyrics beautifully paint a mental picture of. The tender way Carisa sings the lyrics “Alive, I garner the fields of her flight” after the second verse ends are joined by electronic percussion in a moment that’s nothing short of brilliant. Andrew’s piano parts add a new flavor and slightly differ in the melodies instead of mimicking the original version’s guitar, and that alone speaks volumes about his mastery and command over his compositions. Carisa is a god-tier soprano who can seamlessly belt in a mixed voice to reach her second passage without losing the texture or resonance of her voice. For some people, it might sound like she’s doing it all in her chest voice, but it’s just a clever mixed register and excellent command of the composition’s higher parts. There was not a single moment where power was compromised for passion, and this is what sealed the deal for me. If you grew up listening to artists such as Evanescence, Within Temptation, and Lacrimosa like I did, then you will enjoy the familiarity of the vocal style. You will also be impressed by the breath support that only vocalists like Floor Jansen could aspire to have. These guys are a great new addition to my playlist, and their industrial brand of Darkwave/Electronica doesn’t feel out of place amongst gothic and symphonic rock/metal bands who’ve got the same lyrical themes and aesthetics. It’s safe to say “The Flood” delivers all its promises, and then adds some.
