This Is Just A Simple Song by The Eighty Six Seas

Brooklyn-based The Eighty-six seas (AKA Nick Stevens) released his new album ‘This is just a simple song”. Nick Stevens is an Alt-Folk/Indie pop artist, who uses the moniker “The Eighty-six seas” as a tribute to the 1986 Celtics, which were called “The 86 C’s”.

To start off the album, I listened to “Judy in Madrid” first, and wow. I absolutely loved the piano in this song and the overall vibe. It made me feel oddly optimistic, and that everything will be fine. It’s impressive to get this feeling from a song alone! One of my favorites was definitely “The Insomniac’s Lament”, I would definitely listen to this when i’m reading. The song brings me such calamity. Another favorite of mine would be “The Artist”. I loved the guitar solo at the end, definitely a perfect way to end the song! Paired with a simple drum beat, I would definitely rank this as my favorite from this album. One I was not rather fond of was “desire lines”, though I liked it, it felt stagnant, and it failed to invoke any feelings in me.

All in all, I absolutely loved this album, and I hail Stevens for making such a diverse album, with not only one genre, but he mixed genres in such a beautiful way. Just a whole album full of goodies for the ear!

“Summer Love” has awesome laid-back music that anyone can listen to this summer with cool vibes that has a breeze to it. The song starts with “We’re going to keep this light tonight, Is summer time vibes so no need to be uptight” it feels like a bit of jazzy music with lyrical details that tell a story and a picture for you to imagine listening to how summertime is while being in summer break, and feeling the summer love of hanging out with your friends. Feeling nostalgic for when we used to have summer breaks and go down for ice cream and keep awake all night to just enjoy it to the max before it ends.

This song is going to be the hit of the year, I totally would give “Summer Love” my full attention during any nostalgic moments a person could have during a holiday/vacation. This will definitely go into my playlist and feel all the summer vibes and remember all the stories and nights that were never-ending.

Work It Harder by Zight &Chris Willis & Maximals

“Work It Harder” is a track made with a transcontinental collaboration if you will (UK, US, Italy), on a Pop-EDM commercial that will impress you with its dynamism.

Zight is a Hong Kong-based composer, songwriter, and music producer who has tremendous talent and ambition. Collaborating with Italian duo Maximals and Chris Willis on his latest release, Zight comes as a choreographer full of positive vibes that will have you dancing in no time thanks to her story. The acoustic is wonderful.

“Work It Harder” is a cheerleading track with wide appeal and a gentle and powerful singing experience, so well done that it becomes one of the most played tracks at the party. With it, Zight and Maximals strike a perfect balance to create a path with a distinct soul.

For those who believe electronic music doesn’t prioritize words, Zight has given a path that includes a direct message that can inspire athletes, and can also be turned into encouragement for anyone. It is a message of resistance captured in a video that shows a female fighter in training with beautifully filmed footage.

However, this track brings a mix of modern beats laden with the nostalgia of the past, which can easily be found on radio stations, but you can also add it to the tracks you listen to while you’re working out.

No is A nice word by 7000apart

0

What if you’re lost in your thoughts, drowning in some negative conclusions and consciousness? Unaware of what to do. Searching for peace of mind is now a demand priority. The adequate amount of mental health you perceive from your music is no longer fulfilling, and that might mean that you never heard of a band called ‘7000apart which is originally relying on maintaining mental health within their listeners.

7000apart are Amelie Eiding and Jon Kresin, originally high school mates, but life decided to wait and give them both the love and relationship they needed. Amelie is from Sweden, while Jon is from Wisconsin. When Amelie was studying in Wisconsin as an exchange student they met and fell in love, but then when she traveled back home, they experienced a 7000 kilometers distance within their long-distance relationship, then they decided to form a couple of duo bands under the name 7000apart.

A band that is devoted to delivering music in a psychological manner and enhancing mental health among their listeners.

The released track titled ‘No is A Nice Word’ relies upon a simple healthy concept when applied as it waives the addressee from doing something they can’t stand. If you say no more often to things you don’t like, you would sense more meaning in those you said yes to.

The track kicks off with an electric mellow guitar fingerstyle riff, and sooner Amelie pours out her heartfelt warm vocals stunningly as a pop star accompanied by some epic backing choirs levitating the track’s level of seriousness within.

Unlike most pop/rock tracks this one contained an expressive solo of what could feel like in one’s mind if they didn’t have the chance to stand up and refuse what they don’t feel like.

The finger-clapping along with the slight sound of drums and soothing vocals give the track a slight vibe for the listener to acknowledge what is being said and consider the message and accept it serving the overall noble objective of the band, preserving the mental health of their listeners.

We’re surely awaiting passionately for what is more to be released by the American-Sweedish couple, given that the 7000 kilometers happily don’t exist anymore.

Crampotte by Sambal

More amazing summer songs coming our way with Sambal’s latest release, an essential to add to your summer playlist. “Crampotte” is a track for the young and wild crowd but also for those millennials either to reminisce or enjoy the carefree life of summer while listening to this fun, chill track. The London-based artist, originally from France has a special style and identity that originated from a varied number of influences from his personal life experiences and adventures throughout the years. In his younger years, he was more focused on his native French music like the young French electro scene then later after moving to the UK and meeting artists from different backgrounds and different interests he started exploring music differently and moved to 70s jazz fusion and early 2000s experimental electronica.

Sambal’s music is mostly influenced by the summer season and the ocean, “Crampotte” is no different, it brings in all the summer feels from the sun, the sea, the boats and yachts, the beach parties, to the summer nights, and the road trips. This song will make you want to experience it all, the summer events and adventures all wrapped up together. The track is part of an upcoming EP that is called “Abondance” which is expected to be released on Sensas as well throughout this summer. Everything was carefully thought of, from the music to even the artwork that was created by the artist’s friend Thomas Gauguery that represents all the varied influences that affected the artist till now and all the instruments combined, a celebration of diversity and embrace of contrast between the sweet nostalgic feels and the thrill of the wild adventures.

Tipsy by Jus2wo

Mixing different elements in music and genres crossing paths have become a trend between emerging artists and even established ones, it’s not until recently that we’ve encountered songs where we can’t decide whether to place them under a rock, pop, or country genre. Does it always work out and sound good? Well not necessarily, but with “Tipsy” it sure does stand out. ‘Tipsy’ is the debut single of the up-and-coming artist Jus2wo who comes from rich and varied roots. He was born and raised in Brooklyn yet spent a few of his teenage years in Jamaica, where his mother is essentially from, in which he was exposed to different inspirations and a variety of musical flavors from Reggae, Hip Hop, and African music culture. And to top it all off, the artist comes from a musical family where his father was into music and his late uncle was a famous Jamaican artist, which gave him early access to the stage and studio life.

“Tipsy” was released earlier this month and is already at 6.8K views on YouTube only. It is almost impossible to sit still the second the song plays, the beat gets you hooked before the vocals even start with its skilled layering and powerful elements that will surely light up the dance floor at parties and clubs. The artist has a distinctive sound and a unique identity that is hard to miss in which he combines elements from Hip Hop, Reggae Dancehall, and Afro Fusion, giving the song edginess like no other.  The song was inspired by the lack of contact and interaction those past 2 years due to the pandemic that people forgot how to get loud, have fun, and meet new people. Tipsy is the artist’s way of calling the people out again and telling them to live the moment, enjoy life together, and appreciate the time we have together as it might not last. The artist has big dreams and goals of reaching the biggest of stages and becoming the most infamous Reggae Fusion artist originating from the USA.

Love Bomb by Junior Love

Junior Love just released his latest single and first this year “Love Bomb”, a simple pop song with deep meaning and uncommon context. Originally from New York, Ronny Smith JR (AKA Junior Love) has always been passionate about music even at a young age when he took part in choir and band, he explored several areas and directions in arts given his diversion of creativity. The currently based Louisiana artist is a solo pop singer and songwriter who has been in the industry for several years now with interests in writing, singing, abstract art, and conceptual art. His musical style is influenced by the likes of Britney Spears, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Banks, Tove Lo, and others. At the beginning of last year, he was featured as ‘Artist of the Month’ at his local recording studio in Monroe.

‘Love Bomb’ is a catchy pop track with simple tunes and interesting melodies. The style of singing is very different and has an identity of its own, the lyrics are open, clear, and raw, which gives a sense of intimacy as if the artist is sitting right across from you and speaking his mind directly to you. It’s the first single from the upcoming album in which the artist decided to discuss ‘martyrdom’ and ‘covert narcissism’; it shows a darker side of martyrdom and how giving too much to someone too soon might take its toll on you and the relationship.  He explores the themes of bombing your lover with too much love and emotions and suddenly taking it all away and leaving them with nothing but questions and a broken heart. I find it such a brave, unique, and an essential topic to discuss, it helps the listener feel heard and not alone in such devastating feelings, unlike the typical pop love songs.
